There is nothing worse than when your kids are walking around your house looking like lost souls while complaining that there is nothing to do.
While I would love my son to be exploring in the backyard when he has nothing else to do, there are some days when he needs to be near me. He needs me to do an activity with him and he needs to know that together we are having a great time.
My foolproof ‘go to’ activity is slime making.
It has so many benefits to it’s one down side which is the inevitable mess that goes with creating something that is so fun to play with.
Don’t be put off by the mess, just grab a plastic sheet and cover the table then get stuck into having fun.
If you are not ready to dive into slime making today but think it could be a good idea in the future, then grab the ingredients and have them at the ready for when the moment is right.
We have tried and tested this recipe below and can’t vouch for it enough. Altogether, the ingredients cost about $15 but this will make more than one portion of slime.

Time to Make Slime Recipe
Place all the ingredients in a bowl and begin to begin to mix with spoon or your hand.
Be prepared to continue to mix for approximately 20 minutes. If your slime is remaining too sticky, then add an extra dollop of activator to the mix and continue to knead. Fold the mixture until it is a ball and isn’t sticking to your hands.
Add in gems, sprinkles or beads for the added sensory experience.

1/2 cup of clear liquid glue
1tsp activator (Elmer’s Activator)
1/2 cup shaving cream
1 tbs sprinkles
Food colouring

Let us know how you get on!
Good Luck.
