Supporting & Empowering People with Disabilities

Hi! I’m Emily a Developmental Educator and qualified fully registered primary school teacher.

Emily is a mother to three gorgeous children. Her eldest son received a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at the age of 3. This experience prompted Emily to become an expert in the field of autism and developmental disabilities.

A Developmental Educator is an allied health professional who specialises in development disabilities. Their role is to support and empower children and adults, with a disability, to reach their full potential. They can support you individually, but also work alongside, and collaborate with, other allied health professionals as part of your therapy team. Their approaches are holistic, strengths-based, inclusive and person-centred.

Developmental Educators must have a disability-specific university degree, at either bachelor or masters level. Emily has a Masters of Autism Studies from Griffith University, home of the Autism Centre of Excellence. For more information about Developmental Educators visit DEAI.
